MEDICAL IMAGING
The BHUDRH helps organise and support medical imaging student placements at Broken Hill Health Service.
The health service’s medical imaging department is headed by our experienced Chief Radiographer, while the remainder of the team includes radiographers, sonographers, radiologists, an enrolled nurse and clerical staff members.
Students can expect to be exposed to a wide range of medical imaging examinations including general and emergency x-ray imaging, CT scanning, fluoroscopy imaging and ultrasound examinations.
A placement with the medical imaging team offers undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to develop their skills under the direct supervision of Samantha and her team, as well as to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of consumers from the far west region of New South Wales.
Placements with the medical imaging team is limited to no more than two students at a time due to the limited number of staff available to support student placements.
