OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

The BHUDRH supports placement opportunities for occupational therapy (OT) students within Broken Hill Health Service.

The Occupational Therapy Department provides placement in a variety of clinical areas including;

  • Community
  • Inpatients (including outpatient hand therapy)
  • Paediatrics
  • Rehabilitation
  • Project development

The Occupational Therapy team at times will also provide students with the opportunity to attend outreach visits to surrounding communities by road or air with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, depending on seat availability.

Students will work within the OT team under the direction of their supervisor, and their placement will be tailored to suit their particular year of study. Students can expect regular supervision, mentoring and evaluation under the SPEF-R Student Placement evaluation.

Students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in all aspects of rural and professional practice within the Occupational Therapy team.
