The BHUDRH is committed to providing interdisciplinary learning and training opportunities to students on placement in Broken Hill.
Each week, the BHUDRH provides students with a range of learning and training opportunities that are in addition to their placement learning objectives or course requirements. Some of these opportunities are mandatory, whilst others are voluntary.
These learning and training opportunities are designed to better the overall placement experience of students, by providing greater professional, interdisciplinary and cultural context to their practice.
For instance, allied health students may gain new insights into how perscription drugs may effect their patients; medical students can learn to apply artistic creativity to their professional practice; nursing students can learn to collaborate with a range of health practitioners in the design of patient care; and all students can learn to appreciate the historical significance of the local Aboriginal experience.
At present, these learning opportunities are provided to students on placement in Broken Hill only.
