The BHUDRH supports a rural orthoptic program at Broken Hill Health Service.
The orthoptic program offers undergraduate students a fantastic opportunity to hone their skills at a major rural health service under the supervision of several Eye Registrars and the Eye Health RN.
Students will have an opportunity to not only learn from and be supervised directly by the Registrars, but most importantly also make a difference to the health and wellbeing of consumers from the far west region of New South Wales.
At present, the orthoptic program is limited to no more than two students at a time due to the limited number of staff available to support student placements.
If you would like to find out more about an orthoptics placement in the Far West Region (Broken Hill), please contact your university lecturer or the BHUDRH program coordinator John Walker or Jodie Dare.
