The BHUDRH supports placement opportunities for physiotherapy therapy students within Broken Hill Health Service.
The Physiotherapy Department provides student placements across a variety of clinical areas including:
- Inpatients (including; General medicine, surgical -including orthopaedics, ICU and emergency).
Experiences range from individual client treatment to group therapy for programs such as cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, falls and balance and hydrotherapy.

Students will work within the team under direction of their supervisor, and their placement will be tailored to suit their particular year of study. Students are recommended to be at least 3rd or 4th year students to ensure the best experience within the diversity of the caseload.
Students can expect regular supervision, mentoring and evaluation of the placement is completed under the prescribed university assessment tool.
Students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in all aspects of rural and professional practice within the Physiotherapy team.
